you will be met by your guide (Rain Proun) and driver. I will introduce go over the itinerary for the week and will offer suggestions of restaurants and things to do while you’re there. Overnight Siem Reap.
Leave at 5:00 AM for sunrise over Angkor Wat. Then head to Angkor Thom for the Bayon Temple, the intricate bas-reliefs at Baphuon and the magnificent Terrace of the Elephants, finishing up the tour at Ta Prohm. Go back to your hotel.
Start the day at 8:00 AM with a visit to Phnom Kulen National Park, the sacred birthplace of the Khmer Empire, to see the River of a Thousand Lingas and swim at Kulen Waterfall.
Lunch at Romdeng restaurant on the way. Continue on to Banteay Srei, famed for its fine pink sandstone carvings. In the evening, enjoy dinner with an Apsara dance performance.
Discover Tonlé Sap Lake and the floating village of Kampong Phluk, and learn about local fishing life, Khmer agriculture and the rhythms of the Mekong system.
Continue to the Roluos Group of Bakong, Preah Ko and Lolei, some of the earliest temples of the Angkor period.
In the evening, see a show at Phare, The Cambodian Circus (around 9:00 PM) and then return to your hotel.
Depart at 8.00 am to visit Preah Khan, the water-bound Neak Pean, East Mebon and Pre Rup. Proceed to Beng Mealea.
This remote temple is deep in the jungle and far from the crowds and reclaimed by nature. Go back to your hotel.
Transfer from Siem Reap to Battambang (approximately 3 hours) through scenic Cambodian countryside.
On arrival call in at Sala Khet to learn about the region's French colonial history, explore Psar Thom (the main market of Battambang) and stop at a village known for traditional spring rolls and rice wine.
Watch the dramatic bat leaving the Bat Cave in Phnom Sampov in the evening. Nite in Battambang.
Enjoy a ride on the famous Battambang Bamboo Train through the countryside and rice paddies.
Then, visit a traditional wooden Khmer house to learn about local architecture.
Head back to Siem Reap with Rain and driver.
