This 7-day Siem Reap and Battambang itinerary combines five days around Angkor and Siem Reap with two days exploring Battambang’s countryside, colonial history and local culture. It is designed from my real experiences with clients for travelers who want substantial temple time without spending the entire week in Siem Reap.
The route runs from Siem Reap to Battambang and back to Siem Reap, with a private road transfer between the two cities taking about three hours under normal conditions.

This is a highlight day-by-day Siem Reap-Battambang itinerary that is built from my experience with clients for this itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Siem Reap
Pickup from the airport takes about 40 minutes into the city, with your guide meeting you at arrivals with a signboard. The drive in is a chance to walk through the plan for the days ahead.
Day 2: Angkor Wat Sunrise & Angkor Thom
The classic first temple day: sunrise at Angkor Wat, followed by Angkor Thom the Bayon Temple with its carved stone faces, the Baphuon, and the Terrace of the Elephants. This is the day most travelers picture when they imagine Cambodia, and it delivers the full scale of what the Khmer Empire built. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 3: Phnom Kulen Water Fall and Banteay Srie
Vist Phnom Kulen National Park , including the River of a Thousand Lingas and the Kulen waterfall. After lunch, the route continues to Banteay Srei, known for the finest pink sandstone. It will be finished around 5:00 Pm .
Day 4: Roluos Group & Floating Village
A day built around Cambodia before Angkor Thom existed. The morning covers life on Tonlé Sap Lake with a visit to a floating village, and the afternoon explores the Roluos Group Bakong, Preah Ko, and Lolei among the very earliest Angkor-era temples. The evening includes the Phare Cambodian Circus with dinner. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 5: Beng Mealea & the Grand Circuit
This day pairs quieter, less-visited temples Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Mebon, and Pre Rup with Beng Mealea, a remote jungle ruin far removed from the main tourist circuit. The day ends with sunset at Phnom Bakheng. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 6: Departure Siem Reap For Battambang
From Siem Reap to Battambang takes roughly 3 hours by private vehicle with tour guide, with countryside scenery along the way. Firstly, we will visit Sala Khet covers Battambang’s French colonial history, followed by a visit to a local rural market. After lunch, a village known for its spring rolls and rice wine offers a look at rural production, and the evening closes with sunset at the Bat Cave, where millions of bats stream out at dusk.
Day 7: Battambang & Return to Siem Reap
A morning covering Battambang’s best-known sights: the Bamboo Train and traditional wooden houses, before checking out and returning to Siem Reap for departure Battambang doesn’t have international flight connections, so the return leg is built into the day.
