The first eight days focus on temples, culture and inland Cambodia before the route slows down in Kep and Koh Rong Sanloem for four days of beach time.

Days 1-3: Siem Reap & Angkor

Day 1: Arrive in Siem Reap

The trip opens with airport pickup and an overview of the two weeks ahead.

Day 2: Angkor Wat Sunrise, Angkor Thom & Ta Prohm

Day 2 is the main Angkor temple day. Start the day at sunrise at Angkor Wat and continue to Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphuon and the Terrace of the Elephants. The afternoon is dedicated to Ta Prohm, known for the trees growing through the ruins of its temple. A dance performance by Apsaras can be included in the evening.

Day 3: Banteay Srei, Grand Circuit Temples & Tonlé Sap

Day 3 combines several different types of Angkor sites rather than repeating the main circuit. Visit Preah Khan and Neak Pean in the morning, then continue toward Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre. Depending on timing, finish with Pre Rup before visiting a Tonlé Sap floating village.

Day 4: Siem Reap to Battambang

Sala Khet covers Battambang’s provincial history, followed by a look at daily local life including how spring rolls are actually made and the Prahok Market, where fish is prepared using traditional methods. The evening closes at the Bat Cave for sunset, as millions of bats stream out at dusk.

Day 5: Battambang to Phnom Penh

A morning stops at one of Battambang’s traditional wooden houses precedes a ride on the region’s best-known attraction, the Bamboo Train, before the drive to Phnom Penh. The evening includes a sunset sail on the Mekong River.

Day 6: Phnom Penh Royal History & Recent History

The day opens at the SOSORO Museum for Cambodia’s economic history, continues through colonial and Khmer architecture toward Central Market (Psar Thom), and takes in the National Museum, the Royal Palace, and Wat Phnom. The day closes at the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum a heavier stop, but one that adds essential context to the trip.

Day 7: Phnom Penh to Kampot

The morning heads into the Bokor Highlands, a hill station built during the French colonial period (1863–1953), for sweeping views and cooler air. The afternoon covers Kampot’s pepper plantations and salt fields, followed by a boat ride through the region’s flooded forest.

Day 8: Kampot to Kep & Rabbit Island

Check-in at a boutique resort in Kep is followed by a boat trip to Rabbit Island (Koh Tonsay) for swimming and beach time.

Days 9–12: Koh Rong Sanloem Beach Stay

The next four days are intentionally flexible. After more than a week of temples, cities and road transfers, Koh Rong Sanloem provides time to slow down and enjoy Cambodia’s coastline.

You can spend these days:

• Swimming and relaxing on the beach
• Snorkeling or diving
• Fishing
• Exploring the island
• Taking boat trips
• Enjoying quiet evenings by the sea

Koh Rong Sanloem is generally quieter and less developed than neighboring Koh Rong, making it a good choice for travelers who want a relaxed island stay rather than a busier beach destination.

This is the main feature that distinguishes this itinerary from a standard 14-day Cambodia cultural route: the second half deliberately leaves space for relaxation rather than filling every day with sightseeing.

Day 13: Koh Rong Sanloem to Phnom Penh

Return from Koh Rong Sanloem toward Phnom Penh.

Depending on the transport schedule and timing, the journey can include stops around Kampong Chhnang, such as a floating village or local market, before continuing to Phnom Penh.

Overnight in Phnom Penh before your international departure.

Day 14: Departure from Phnom Penh

Transfer to Phnom Penh International Airport for your flight home.
